Fatal Car Accident in Brighton Beach

Fatal CrashA 43 year old man lost his life after crashing into a metal beam on West Brighton Ave. & West 1 St earlier this morning.

According to police, the vehicle, a 2007 Ford Explorer traveling westbound on West Brighton Ave rolled over after hitting a beam ejecting the driver from the vehicle.

EMS declared the driver dead on scene.

The front seat passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Lutheran Hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

The following is an update from one of our readers:

“The officers said he must have been doing 80-90 mph. The woman was taken to the hospital and I have no further information on her. The truck was my father in laws.”

    It wasn’t a woman who died it was a man. The woman was taken to the hospital. They stole the Explorer and were traveling about 80-90 MPH when the driver hit the train station support.
